I have looked into it a little.
As I understand it, it plays similar to Hearts of Iron 3. Opinion seems divided as to which is better. I think the UI in Supreme Ruler is a little more accessible & user friendly. Apparently, it's use of submarines is not good as it seems to result in little or no effect from the Atlantic war as regards supplies. Perhaps they will address this in a patch. Thanks mate, yeah I was a bit disappointed with the lack of naval combat having much of an influence, it seems to be mostly concerned with land combat.

Apparently HOI3 is similar in the lack of Atlantic war influence, so the problem is common to both.
