what is you most rediculess death in SH4?

i'll give it a starter,

my most rediculess death was ramming a destroyer at flank speed ahead on surface, surviving, sunken destroyer, turn hard left, end up on the beach... game over...

why can't i give my crew a day on the beach after "hard" working for the destroyer kill?

Just yesterday. DCed and flooded engine room, s class. Submerged, but almost straight up and down in the water with the bow out of the water past the tubes.

Needless to say, the DD had no trouble finding me....

I embedded my sub in a tiny island I didn't notice on the charts.

I have a few mods installed that enhances the enemy's AI - I died in the Artillery Tutorial Mission. Sunk by a merchant ship using flak I think.

Hauling butt back to Midway, ran aground at flank speed and high TC on a small island near the atoll, right after a good patrol too. That navigator is now a supply clerk.

I had that happen to me too, I managed to control my depth and fire off some more torpedoes and sink another DD, unfortunately there was a crippled BB right next to me, I tried to breach at flank, then haul away on the surface. I managed to get leveled out up on top right before the BB blasted me back to the bottom for good.

Way back when had stock game v 1.4. I had just read Richard O Kane's "WAHOO" for the first time and decided to try the "down the throat shot" on a charging DD after sinking a tanker with four stern torpedoes.Turned my bow into the DD, fired at 600 yards, , one missed, one hit right in the bow, DD exploded.Instead of hitting the dive button to get under the DD after firing, I hit the surface button by mistake and popped to about 35 feet before dive officer caught boat and stopped the ascent. One of two torpedoes fired hit the DD right in the down, blowing it off and causing a massive explosion, the DD was finished. However, the burning hulk (slowed but still moving at 25-30 knots ) plowed right into conning tower and side of hull where control room is, since when realized the error, was too late to dive under in such short time. Gato class sub(forgot which one) went under, hull damage went to 100, game over.

Coming out of Pearl in my shiny new command, the USS Pike, on my first ever war cruise. Set course out of the harbor, ordered ahead 2/3rds and went to get a cup of coffee. To my horror, the crew had driven us straight into the hulk of a BB (I believe it was the Oklahoma, though I could be wrong).

Hedge-hogged in shallow water. The explosive concussion off the bottom lifted my U-boat to the surface where two destroyers filled me full of holes.

I was on the surface in an S-class boat, chasing after a merchant and finishing it off with a few more shells. As I pulled around to the starboard side, it opened up on us with one of those small light flak guns, and immediately did damage.

We dived quickly, but suffered so much damage, we could not get off the bottom.

oh actually, now I remember another running aground. The navigator missed the command of 'follow plotted course' and ran aground heading out of the harbor at midway at full speed.
