I met the guy on a number of occasions over the years and found him to be very articulate and straight talking but sadly he will be remembered by many for being part of the reason Labour split into opposing camps and made it easier for the Tories to win three elections in a row.

A good chap, helped give us Concorde back when he was Wilsons Minister of Technology, and had a backbone of steel, which is more than can be said for most of todays generation of politicians. Outstanding orator and not afraid of saying what he thought, he will be missed by many.
