Default 2013 official Subsim NFL thread

Wake up! It's that time of year again!

I was afraid the thead was going to jump the shark like shark week, but this years' pre-season drama sure looks tantalizing.

I guess this years theme is the "Rise of the Sophomore QBs."
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-traini...homore-success

RGIII?
Russell Wilson?
Andrew Luck?
Colin Kaepernick?
Ryan Tannehill?

Then there's chunky Chip

No more soft-n-fluffy pac-12 defences to go up against. What's your record against real defense? 0-2 What you're not playing Portland St?

Uncle Phil, where are you?

Speaking of soft-n- fluffy, Who wants to start as TE for the Pats? Can Tebow catch? Bible study starts at 6am. Can Brady tebow?

(thread WIP...more to come)

No more NFL for me. Reason? The channel that broadcast Sunday night or Monday night football, have raised they monthly cost so much that I no more can effort to subscribe on that and some other channel.

So I just have to read about my team on the Internet.

Dallas beat Miami 24-20 last night for the first pre-season game aired on NBC sunday night football.

I retired when the score was Dallas 17 to Miami 3 in the 4th quarter (yawn)

but it's nice that football is back

Tebow will be throwing and not receiving. Of course he will be throwing from the sidelines. Brady will not sit down. Although, Tebow might be the answer to the choke experienced by Brady in the past years playoffs. Sorry August. Had to be said. Hernandez will be watching from his new address.

Of course me being a dirty bird Ravens fan, our line up defected after Flacco was given the golden key to the payroll vault. That is OK as we need some young talent on the field. Our boys who have played the past five plus seasons are starting to feel the pain.

I'm pretty sure that Tom has a few more good years left but I predict he will take a lot of knocks this year because he's lost so many of his receivers, especially the go to ones like Welker.

As for Tebow though he is never going to be taking the field unless both Brady and his backup Ryan Mallet are injured or he plays Tight End or some other position beside QB.

I'd play that position if I got paid what they're paying him.

So would I. These guys want to play though. This is what they worked for. Sidelined is no fun.

Very true. That's why I figure we don't know yet what role the Pats really intend for him to play.

A week or so ago coach said he is throwing. I wonder if tactics are changing for the Pats. I noticed with Brady that he is killing the other team or he gets rattled and caves. Game lost. Perhaps Tebow will be the go to guy on the days Brady is not playing for keeps.

I saw a little bit of the Pats- Eagles game. Any thoughts?
Tebow... I guess he had a few good plays. I'll wait until the end of preseason to make a decision. I imagine he'll get a lot of playing time.

I hope Tebow does get more plat time. Maybe ground Brady a bit. In my opinion his emotions can get the better of him.
