Default Graphics help

Hi All, out of the blue I am getting a white rectangle around all boats and vessels that forms before and as they move thru the water...in fact the faster the whiter (blankness). I am running SHIII GWX.3 gold. I have tried MOD list arranging, but I don't think that is the problem...although I am no tech expert ...Has anyone any ideas for a fix or reason. I can't identify any changes or modifications that I did to cause it. It literally just happened one start up.

Thanks

hmmm, ive not heard of that particular issue, but hopefully someone who has will come along. My first thought is that its a graphics card issue....In the mean time I would suggest a reboot of your PC then try the game again...then a complere removal of all mods...we need to find out if its a game issue or a hardware issue on your PC. Actually, I would really try a clean install of the game first, then again with GWX installed, because If the problem perists with a clean install then you know its your PC and you can begin to trouble shoot that (ie your graphics card settings). If it persists only with a clean GWX then that could mean a memory issue (try 4gb ptch)....so like that proceed in stages

Thanks for the advice.....I updated the graphic card to the newest version....I have cleaned out the MODS and rebooted several time before and after. I tried reinstalling GWX 3 but it insists there are still MODS installed, so I guess next step is to start over with clean install of SH3 and GWX 3. I believe I had the 4gb ptch but will check that. This was sudden so I am baffled, but I have been experimenting and could have blown a fuse for sure......I thank you for listening and you advice I will advise any new info and events in this adventure !

yeah if GWX is complaining then I would do a clean reinstall for sure....try it again before you reinstall GWX. You see only a clean reinstall (including deleting all game folders including career and save files in my documents and possible a registry cleaner) will establish a baseline-whether it is a game issue (mod conflict) or a PC problem, otherwise your at risk of going around in circles trying to pinpoint the source of the problem.

Just an update.....All is well reinstalls all went perfectly....SH3 and GWX 3 are working fine....must have been mod cross or something I caused, but all is under control for the moment......until I do something new and destructive ! Thanks for the ears and advice

awesome news...a reinstall always a good way to go before pulling all your hair out....now you can add these mods back carefully one at a time untill the culprit is found...if you want to post that modlist, perhaps I or someone else on here can spot something
