I was over at SimHq and ran on to a download that would enable a wide screen ( 1360 X 768 ) listed within SH3 in Subsim.
It will not function. Any one have better info on this ? For me, it's SH3 GW3, Civ 5, and WOFF as my little world of fun and challange. Thanks, SNAKE1937 |

As far as I know there are three options. The first one is adjustable but if you plan to use lets say 1920x1080 resolution with any custom UI's you'll experience serious bugs.

Has any one used these reciently?
The first one has a download before the final download from some one I have never heard about. I would hate to mess up the SH3 GWX 3 I have working now. Thanks, SNAKE1937 |

All three of these mods are JSGME-ready. If you enable one and get bad results - doesn't work properly, does a CTD, just doesn't look good, whatever - just disable with JSGME and you will be right back to what you have now. Use of JSGME guarantees that you can always recover your starting configuration. The only exception is if you are using SH3 Commander and fail to roll back. THEN you can create an unrecoverable situation.
(Well, not really unrecoverable. Worst case might require a complete uninstall and reinstall. An evening's chore, but not the end of the world, either.) So go ahead! Try any/all of the wide-screen mods. You won't do any permanent damage. BTW, there's also WideScreen_complete_GWX&StockSH3. Get it here: http://www.generalfiles.pw/download/...ockSH3.7z.html |

Big Walleye
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
The max I can get is 1600 buy either 900 or 1024 or 1200. Which would give the better views on my 22" Dell Wide Screen that is best used at 1920 X 1200. Once again, thanks for your input. And of note, when I lived in Fargo ND, catching and eating Walleye was great fun and enjoyment. SNAKE1937 |

Couldn't say. My monitor is native 1920x1080, and the best (only!) widescreen res I can use is 1366x768. Other resolutions are OK for the 3D pages, but don't handle the 2D pages properly. And using a res which elongates the circles seems to interfere with target aspect measurements through the scopes.

Hi,
while I get it done to play with a resolution of 1024x768 in windowed mode, I did not figure out how to do so for 1360x768. The latter resolution is always stretched to my standard 1920x1020 which looks ok, but is not really as brilliant as it would look without being stretched. I wonder whether or not you have an idea how to solve that. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and have the steam version of SHIII together with GWX3.0 and the widescreen version of MaGuiMod. What is working, though, is the widescreen version windowed mode, but the window is still 1024x768 - leaving me with parts unseen. Seems the window size is hardcoded somewhere? (One) reason for the windowed mode is using Mobo which can then be used "on"´the window in transparent mode making it easy to put markers etc. Thank you and best regards, 10tacle |

I'm running Win7x64 with SH3 and GWX3.
I'm pretty sure I'm running this one: Silent Hunter Resolution Fix 1.4b I say "pretty sure" because it's been a while since I set it up. I think I'm running 1920 x something. You get some distortion but after a while it is unnoticeable. The biggest problem with it is that when you mouse click out of the UZO or periscope the cursor appears on the fire button and launches a torpedo. To fix this install the Hitman Optics UI. It moves the fire button so the problem goes away. Steve |

Hi,
after trying some of the ideas provided in this forum, I finally made it with some tweak based on my nvidia tool running the game on a reduced screen so that the game now looks great on a reduced 1920x1020. In case someone is interested and also has a nvidia graphics card, just PM me. Best, 10tacle |

I have an Nvidia card, but it would be great if you would just post your solution here for future seekers.
