Default Visual Underwater Damage on ships

I have noticed in some of the videos that when the camera is brought underwater you can see torpedo damage ( holes etc.) below the waterlines of the sinking ships.

I have checked for that on my hits and I never see any damage. Is there a mod that causes this cool feature?

I am pretty sure this happens by default and it is a matter of what mod stops it. (Based on my rough knowledge)

Yes, I think the default stock hull holes are not the best looking damage holes, but are there after a torpedo hit

You do not see any holes because it's, probably, imported ship model and not stock model..

ok, my reference is from sh3 & sh4 but with those it was a fact of each ship needs to have damage settings to show damage and some ships were incomplete (showed some damage in a spot or two) or they showed no damage at all.

the fix for those games was to go through each and every ships files to correct the damage settings. that's a huge amount of work for eye candy so AFAIK no one every did a mod to fix it.

all these games seam to share the same problems and the same fixes or solutions so its very likely you are just seeing ships without damage setttings to create the images. weather this is from stock or a mod doing it is the question so uninstall any "damage" mods and retest

Default 3D Damage

Believe you have to enable 3D damage in graphics options screen
