Question about GWX english names

Hi guys! So I have SH3 1.4, GWX 3.0 Gold installed. Through JSGME I added the Navigation Maps and Grid References in English. That is all, no other mods. The English names only appear on the nav map when zoomed so far out that individual grid numbers are not visible, only the letters. Is this normal and is there a fix so that English names are visible all the time?

EDIT: Just wanted to add that this is a clean installation of SH3 and GWX. The only thing extra added is Multi SH3.
