They exist but they completely miss their shots.

It might have something to do with their firing at 20 meters deep with the periscope down...

I am guessing that they will respond to radio contact reports if they are within range, but I have not seeing this yet.

I took on a convoy in a Historic mode and some of the ships near the back of the convoy as they approached were on fire , so I suppose they had just been attacked ?

I gave up on the wolf pack mission in the campaign, the couple of wolfpacks sailing around were just following waypoints and not heading to any nearby reported contacts nor responding when I reported any, kind of useless!

Yeah, I've seen some leaving Wilhelmshaven before, and ran into one in the North Sea area I think it was, but never attacking the same convoy as I. Though I have run into a pack of destroyers that were engaged. One was sinking, another on fire and two more frantically searching the area. Never did see what they were attacking though.

No.

Think of all the stuff they could say is in game, but too rare to be seen all the time. They may have Captain Sasquatch, I mean Rahn, make an appearance,or a wolf pack, but what are the odds of running into them.

Of course with the A.I. the way it is, they will run into you first.

I've even been experimenting with the "Send Contact Report" hoping subs would show up but no packs yet

I think if you're near the German owned coast lines you'll end up with airplanes attacking.

I think it's safe to say that wolfpacks or AI U-boats in SH5, is broken... I'm shocked.

Air dropped torpedoes float in the water just like bricks don't, but AI Sub fired torpedoes are fine.
