I have done it once, but I don't know how. It was after returning from the very first campain mission (the coastal patrol) and having sunk a lot of ships. I've restarted a campain recently (now knowing the game better) and just completed the same mission with about 14 kills. The mission ended (Ended patrol), I got the cross-like medal icon filled (sunk 50k worth of cargo), but this time I got no new sub and no new upgrades... what did I miss?
I don't know the date I have completed the mission the first time, but this second time it was November 5th, 1939. I've searched for this answer for about 30 minutes trying different search keywords, but all I could find was a list of upgrades by date which doesn't cover what I'm talking about. (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...=upgrade+dates) Anyone know? |

Camouflage doesn't actually have any effect, all but the Black, sound absorbing coating. When using the Images above, disregard the Submarine Unlocks, because the VIIA, VIIB, VIIC and VIIC/41 are the only ones you can regard from these pictures. |

Thanks that's what I wanted! So that means it's only a matter of timing and not a matter of renown or number of sunk ships?

Happy to help.
![]() Yes, but saving up Renown is good, so you can buy the many new upgrades that come in later, and once you get more Torpedoes, you must pay for them, like the Falke (Acoustic Homing) That costs about 300 (?) Each. When you fill in a cross, it means you have completed the Objective, in order to pass the mission with flying colours, you must fill them into the last larger ones. |
