Flickering textures

I'm dealing with flickering textures on ships, how widespread is this problem and how do I resolve it? I was reading about how it was a z-buffer issue...

The flickering isn't very noticeable in single images. Here is my mod list

Any ideas? It only occurs on distant objects and it disappears when my u-boat(not the camera) gets closer.

I think I have the same problem. I thought that it's a common thing, but seems that everyone doesn't suffer from it. It doesn't matter that much, but it would be great to get rid of it.

I have NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460.

Its a bug common to those with nvidia cards, Im used with it and I dont bother about anymore.

Very interesting, thanks for the heads up. There were problems with Nvidia cards in Silent Hunter 4 as well...

I have the flickering with the ati card as well .

I have an AMD 6790 and I also get some mild flickerig.

it has nothing to do with Nvidia its the game settings combined with your computer specs that matters most wether its very noticable or not.

i think there is always a small amount of flicker no matter what but i cant say if its grafics related or game engine or both

I tried adjusting the in-game settings. Disabling AA had no effect and the flickering remained after turning off all effects and lowering the texture quality.

I've just got the nVidia GTX 580 and I still get occasional flickering, and that's a top end graphic card so don't think it's the graphic card with the issue it'd be the game engine.

i think ddrgn found a solution for flickering long time ago... i do not know if he remember

My guess its in the shaders folder somewhere . Anyone want to check

Running the game on my ATI HD4870 removed the texture flickering.


Alas, this isn't a solution for nvidia cards.
