Default Weird JSGME issue...

So I tried to move some mods around, but every single mod in my JSGME is "greyed out" signifying that another mod has overwritten it and needs to be removed first. However, as there is no other mod capable of being removed, I cannot seem to remove any mod.

Anyone had this problem before?

with jsgme click remove all then just delete the "mods" folder in your game files to clear out the corruption there, if you saved a backup copy of your games unmodded "data" folder then delete that from your game and replace it with your backup copy at the same time.

if you still have issues then your game is corrupted and you need to reinstall it.

Yeah, when I click "remove all" it tells me every one of them cannot be removed.

add all mods that are not already there. See if you can then get them removed in good order. reinstall jsgme and start over

This is one of the problems with JSGME that gets gamers into trouble........removing "Activated" mods out of sequence of their order of activation. The fact that the mod is greyed out means its files have been over written by another mod (and you agreed to it when JSGME asked). However, in many cases you can remove the mod anyway, leaving JSGME to lose tract of which file belongs to which mod. In your problem, your left with JSGME not knowing what to do, so it does nothing.

Always remove mods in the order they were added....."Last one in, First one out".

ALWAYS!

After having one of these types of issues, when you do get the mods out of the game, you'll need to run a "Compare Snapshot" of your SH4 game files to see if anything was left behind. This of course is only if you took a clean install "Snapshot" of your game files BEORE you added any mods to the game. If that isn't the case, plan on a complete reinstall of the game; adding a fresh JSGME (this time with a "Snapshot" taken); and a wiser way of handling the mods you add/remove from the game.

I did have this issue last week I resorted to unistalling the game and removing all the MODS floder, then I reinstalled and put a clean install of JSGME over it. I then pasted mods individually into the mods folder. I noticed that if I did a C & P off all the Mods, the same thing would happen.

this is because there are hidden invisible files in jsgme that are where the saved info is kept so this is why you delete the "MODS" folder, its to get rid of those saved hidden files. if you do a "move all" thing it also moves those hidden files too as you found out.

I explained this stuff in my mod soup fix thread as well
