I cant sink?

Hi everyone I am new to the forums! I started playing SH3 this week and I've noticed that every time I have an encounter with a destroyer he throws out depth charges and misses completely. I stayed in a straight line at full speed btw and even increased the time compression. Is the AI stupid or something or is that just the way the game is. I remember when I used to play SH2 it seemed the AI knew where you were and almost always kicked my ass.

1. At what - game - year did that happen? Early in the war escorts are not "smart" enough to detect and attack U-booten succesfully.

2. You may have run into a novice escort. There are levels in the effeciency of the escorts : novice , normal , advanced and elite IIRC.

But on a more serious note, are you playing the game stock, or modded? Most of the mega-mods to my knowledge (and GWX for sure) makes the AI considerably more intelligent, with much more realistic (hard) sensors.

Sounds like your playing the stock/vanilla version of the game and in the early years.

If so, it will get harder but not too much so.

I'm playing the original vanilla version it's not modded at all. Any mods to make the AI more intelligent ?
