Works fine on Windows 7 - 64 bit. Most people, and I have done the same, have suggested to install on a different folder other than the default folder such as C:\Program Files (x86). This is because of user account control. Create a folder such as C:\SH4 or if you have multiple partitions like me, F:\Games\SH4.

Best Wishes and Happy Hunting.

Many, many folks here are doing so; I've been running SHIII/GWX3, SH4(OM/OMEGU and TMO) and SH5 all on Windows 7/64 Home Premium edition for the last couple of years. Some do so in Compatability Mode and others do not. I'll let any real "experts" chime in on the whys and why-nots, if any care to do so, but try to just follow Mikemike47's suggestion.

Do not put SH4 (or any other game/sim that needs to write to files) into either the "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)" folders. Either create a separate root directory or a separate folder in the directory of your choice and install the game/sim folder there (I set up "C:\SubSims" and put each individual game folder there). An App like "TweakUAC" can also help.

However, even with those precautions, I still had to install the program "Game Booster" in order to run SH4 and SH5. Some process or service, from Windows and/or the BIOS was stopping both of those programs from loading and running properly. It surprised me that the same thing was not interfering with SHIII/GWX3 or SH3 Commander, though...oh well.

Good hunting...

I have Win7 64 bit Pro and it runs fine. Because I hate user account control, I turned it off and let the game (the gold edition) install to the C:\Program Files(x86). Haven't had any problem with any other game either.
