Why the title "outrageous"?

Military Ceremonies, showcasing....the military.

I will now prove that my silly walks are sillier than your silly walks!

So there!

Really, though, this is how conflicts should be resolved.

Because it far beyond the typical military ceremony by a substantial margin and it is actually well coordinated considering the bitterness between the two sides.

I can not think of a military ceremony anywhere near as outrageous especially not one that involves two nations that are almost constantly on the verge of warfare.

Also this ceremony is clearly saber rattling did you even see how into it the crowds got? Maybe you should watch it again.

Outrageous: Wildly exaggerated or improbable.

Grammar Nazi did not have a problem with the title.

Sure, i get that. Outrageous is probably not a word that i would have used though. Just my opinion, not a criticism.

Sure did, and the 'saber rattling' part of the title i never questioned.

Nope, i doubt it would change my mind.

Thanks for the definition, i don't know how to take that to be honest.
What it also means, and you failed to lecture or educate me on the other definitions of outrageous are: violent or unrestrained in behaviour or temperament, grossly offensive to decency, authority, being or having the nature of an outrage, of or involving gross injury or wrong, grossly offensive to the sense of right or decency, violent in action or temper, well, you get the idea.
I really don't mean to be sarcastic or condescending here, sir, just had a question re the thread title and queried it.
I hope you still see it as that after this reply.

Of course he didn't, since Grammar Nazi knows that outrageous was spelled correctly.

This has been going on for ages between those two governments. It's just part of the business as usual; a bit of a yawn, really. It's similar to the posturing NK and SK do at the DMZ. Sound and fury signifying nothing...

Michael Palin saw it back in the 1990s, it's become quite a tourist attraction now. Can't say that the DPRK and the ROKs posturing is quite a big a tourist attraction though...

I think it would be a bit unwise to underestimate threats made by any nation. In particular Pakistan and India who both have nuclear weapons and both have their fair share of crazies(though Pakistan might edge out here).

In fact they are "hot" with each other nearly constantly in Kashmir and that situation will only get worse as time goes on and as populations in both nations rise making water more scarce especially when Kashmir is a major source of water.

Just because nothing happens does not mean nothing will ever happen. If anything Pakistan and India and their relationship is a serious threat because they both have nuclear weapons and they just might be crazy enough to use them.

The hatred between(generally speaking) Hindus,Muslims and Sikhs runs very deep and could boil over at any time. The terrorist attack on Mumbai for example very nearly resulted in India declaring war on Pakistan.

The Indian subcontinent is bar far the most likely place for a major conflict to break out.In fact I am honestly surprised that nothing major has happened since 1999.

Plan for the worst hope for the best.

We've been hearing about the sabre-rattling between India-Pakistan for as long as I can remember and some of the incidents have been far more severe than the ceremonies (and that is basically all they are) shown in the videos. This, again: sound and fury...

If you want to compare armies:

Speaking of ceremonies and goosestepping, I remember when Menachem Begin made his historic visit to Egypt. His plane landed and when he emerged from the hatchway, he gave a slightly startled reaction when he saw the Egyptian honor guard march towards the plane in perfect goosestep...

Maybe we could organize some sort of "So, You Think You Can March?" reality show competion for all the various disputing countries...
