Default Easy Sub Control key config mod v0.9

Hi guys.

I've created this key configuration mod for SH3, that I'd like some feedback on before I make final. I've named it Easy Sub Control, cause thats what I wanted to achieve with it - the ability to control my sub easier with the keyboard.

Thats why I've used a lot of "macros" with the config, for example giving the dive order with Shift-D also reports the depth under keel, and lowers the periscope. And returning to course with C, always goes ahead std, along with surfacing.

I also managed to managed to make the A and D keys (rudder left and right), only stop turning the sub once you release them. (Thats why it's 2 megs rather than, say 20 kb :) )

It's packed for use with JSGME, and has a 6k readme file if anyone wants to know exactly what I've done :) Feedback on the stuff I've had to do is ofcourse very much welcome.

It also comes with a complete list of keys you can check out before installing, and the in-game help (F1) has also been modded to show these.

Download here: http://www.spoofers.dk/files/Easy_sub_control_v0.9.rar

(Oh btw, its patch 1.4b only. Thats very important.)

I'd really appreciate any feedback you guys could give. Like keys you find useless (like ctrl-r, shift-r, ctrl-t.. i don't know), or keys you're missing, cause I'm not an SH3 vet at all (4th patrol so far).

Regards, snider :)

Interesting idea. But sorry, I don't will put feedback soon because I'm working on the revision of the HT/milk cow mod and I'm not playing the game now. But go ahead, this sound like a very useful mod!

Hi, I don't know exactly how to get this in a category. Is it just a mod or a tool?

And welcome to Subsim.

Personally, if I'm transiting submerged at slow speed during daylight, I don't want my sub surfacing must because I tell the Navigator to return to course

Otherwise, I think your mod has great potential.

Its a keymap, thats the catagory I would put it in. I quickly found that no community keymaps were made, so I started my own.

Well the C key just has that macro as an example. The navigators order "Return to course" does the same as it used to (if you use the mouse). Only the keys have been changed. But that considered, I did make this mod for myself, and I quite like being able to do things fast.. Like how I have numpad / to maximise time compression :)

And thanks for the warm welcome :)

I doubt it since it was made in 2005, before SH4 was out. The author only made the 2 posts here at SubSim, and has not been back here since 2006, so I doubt we will see a mod from him for SH4.

Edit: The link in his post is dead, and Plissken 04 does not list him on his mod site, so I guess it is not available anyway.
