Default Conning tower controls

Hi all,

after a long absence from playing SH4 I have just reinstalled on my laptop and have also added TMO RSRD and various other mods. While playing I have noticed if I go to the conning tower, that I can't manually control the depth, engine speed etc using the manual controls. The sonar and radar stations are active and I can use. I have just checked my other installation on my desktop pc and all these controls work. I have tried deactivating all mods and have also disabled the touch pad and have started using a mouse all of which still fail to get the manual controls to work so that I can dive deeper than the gauge suggests on the HUD at the bottom of the screen.

Has anyone come across this problem in the past or have any suggestions?

Thanks

Dave

An update on this problem, I think it's caused by the widescreen resolution which just makes the 'hotspot' area on the gauges for input different to the outer edge of the gauge.

I thought this problem had resolved itself but it seems that some types of subs are ok and others don't allow manual control of the depth gauges etc. Is this linked to using TMO 2.5?

Has anyone any suggestions of how to correct this problem as I can't dive below the maximum depth indicated on the gauge in the control room

Thanks for any help

Dave

I believe it is related to TMO 2.5, because the 3D TDC radar mod was added, which I think had to take away quite a few click areas from other things in the conning tower to work. This causes different clickable equipment between early war boats without the radar, and later boats with the radar. Seemed to me the depth gauge was still clickable though. But no more weather updates, fire extinguisher, fan, or speed click spots when the TDC mod is active in your conning tower.

I run the latest TMO+RSRD +TRAVELLER MODS and I have never had an issue with manually controlling the gauges. You'll have to forgive me however I do not ever recall controlling them from the upper con in the sail I have only done that from the control room inside the pressure hull.

Thanks guys,

as I posted this I found an additional thread re the problem and it is caused by TMO2.5 and 3D TDC.

For those that have experienced the problem of not being able to manually control the gauges in the sail, the small depth gauge works in the Control Room.

Tested last night in a Narwhal and evaded a destroyer at 550ft
