Save Game ?

Is there a way to save the game in the middle of a mission? I am on the first mission and keep dying having to restart from the beginning (klien port) sucks? Ty

also I haven't played Silent Hunter since the first one and a lot has changed.
In manual TDC how do you tell how fast a contacts knots are and beating and Aob?

And what are recommended mods? Ty again.

In the Pause menu, their is an option to save, use that to save and load at your own leisure.
