What's wrong with this image?

Loaded a previously saved patrol and noticed something rather strange

Nothing wrong at all. Doesn't SH3 always look like that?

On the serious side, I've been playing off and on for eight years, and though I've read a lot of complaints I've never actually had that happen to me.

Thought I'd add an external image. Most bizarre but it didn't stop me sinking a ship half an hour later

Maybe it's the mods? I don't know. It doesn't affect my enjoyment that much phew!!

My mods list is as follows:

GWX - Alternate Loadscreen - Full Circle
GWX - 16km Atmosphere
GWX - Enhanced Damage Effects
GWX - Lite Harbor Traffic
No continuous 'Ship spotted' V1.2 for GWX3
GWX - No Medals on Crew
OLC's Modified Searchlight Beams for GWX3
LifeBoats&Debris_v4
sobers green waves
sobers real smoke
Pascal_Port_People
Conning Tower Compass Fix
Bearded faces
Extreme Wet Weather Gear Mod
Lutzow Officers SET3
Thomsen's Sound Pack V3.2cg
RadioMessage - MorseCodeOnly
MaGui F
Compulsory U-boat Headdress - GWX Expansion
Compulsory U-boat Headdress - SH3 Cmdr Realistic Crew Option
Rapt0r's Uniforms V2.0 [Black - All Leather] Patch

I did save whilst underwater.

While I'm talking mods, the 'Compulsory Headdress' doesn't appear to be working, though.

Surface your boat and save then reload the game....that should sort it.

I have had this happen in SH4, but never in SH3. I am using a lot of the same mods you are with the exception of the mods that you are using that affect the crew. If I was a betting man I would bet it was one of the crew mods causing your problem.
The only way I know how to solve a problem with mods is to roll back all the mods then activate them one at a time until the problem shows up. Next I fool around with the mod order until it works or I give up out of frustration A tedious method, but it has worked for me. Hopefully someone on this forum with far more expertise then me can spot your problem and give you a quick fix.

Looks like you got a quick fix while I was posting this....hope it works for you

thanks ninja turtle. im betting those dials are on the MaGui F mod.
saving underwater is a big NO-NO.
Save away from land, moving objects and underwater. save in the middle of the ocean when you cant see or hear anything: exclude all chances of messing up your patrol. or back home in port

cheers.

No problem, flag4. I've changed my mod list so many times but I'm pretty sure the dials are on MaguiF.

Thanks for the advice about saving. I'll do that from now on

Incidentally I can thoroughly recommend the 'Thomsen's Sound Pack' if you haven't used it as Singed advised to me:

"I strongly (and I can't express how strongly) recommend Thomsen's Sound Pack, it is just an awesomely put together collection of sound files for SH3 and really increases the immersion. It takes a while to install in JSGME, to the point of looking like JSGME crashed, but 5 minutes of your time installing the mod makes the game so much better."

Pressing "P" seems sufficient to make them aware of the depth of their situation.
