What is this????

I see these "add-ons" in Simmarket. First time I see some news about these "add-ons". And they seem "commercial" versions of mods of the community...

These add-ons aren´t new. They are pretty old, much older than the most mods.
I´ve bought my Silent Hunter 3 full verison together with the 2 add-ons in 2007!

But I have tried these addons and must say they are no match for any supermod!

EDIT: I found a games magazin with a review of "Seewölfe". The date of the review is december 2005

yeah own the original seawolf expansion... abandond it for GWX but that one i think only added resupply at sea, nets, and mines

I don't think there is much you can do. You could copyright your work but its a 35 dollar fee in the US, and I don't think the federal courts have jurisdiction internationally, if the crime is made in another country.

So, not sure what to do.

I understand its fairly common in Russia and certain other countries for custom game content to be sold on burned discs right off the store shelf. Its sad that they can get away with it when the legitimate authors never have the option, but there is very little that can be done about it sadly.

I knew about Seewölfe but, this is the first I've heard of Seewölfe II but, it was released in 2007. The med one was released in 2006, so they both are old and outdated. I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole, knowing where the mods in them came from.

There are many around these parts who remember where some of that work came from and was originally intended as 'not for profit'.

Not the sort of material we want to see advertised on SubSim.
