Default Any good deals on IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover?

I always wanted to play it but i didn't want to pay full price for a game i heard such bad reviews about.
I got to test it on my PC and i know i can run it. So does anyone know of any special holiday deals for this game?

Sounds cheap said like that

Steam has it for $19.49 and considering its now officially unsupported maybe some stores sells them for even less?

Did you check Gamersgate? 6 euros should be around $8.

That's odd.. just double-checked and both GG and Steam still show it as ~6.50 euros for me.

Maybe they dont like Canadians..

You could always see if one of your buddies in europe would be willing to buy it and gift it to you via steam?

As for the game: the latest patch made it very playable and stable. It is a shame that it is now unsupported but there is still quite a bit of activity on the ATAG and Repka servers, as well as of course us lot at II./JG53 are continuing with the sim until other options present themselves - just finished the Battle of Britain and are currently voting between continuing the channel map into the "Blitz" phase, using an online map for the Siege of Malta or "bending" history slightly and operating in the Greco-Italian war all in later 1940-early 1941.

If you can pick it up cheaply then I'd certainly say give it a shot!

Just checked it out, looks pretty good. Does it tie in with 1946, or is it a stand alone game?

Stand alone.

It is a good game, I've not played for a while and have only just got the latest, and last?, patch, but already it was a respectable game. Although with 777 doing the next IL2 game I really look forward to that one.

Its standalone.

You're right, Dowly. It is 6.49 on Steam UK. I tried buying from there but it converted me back to Canada and asked for 19.49

Ohh well, if i can't find it for less i think i might just stick with 1946 for a while longer.
Recently started a new campaign as a BF109 pilot and just got the 109F-4... Oh boy.
These Russian planes don't stand a chance anymore. Shot down 3 in both my last 2 sorties hehehe.

^ Thanks, that exactly what i was looking for!
Do you know if its on special or the regular price?
I would've preferred to wait for next month before downloading it.
I'm pretty sure i'm close to my ISP bandwidth limit.
