Default Taking the plunge (no pun intended)

I'm debating finally taking the plunge and getting SH5. I've two quick questions (for now! ) before I make a final decision.

If I understand correctly, this now can be played offline, once it is online registered?

Should I buy a harddisk copy, or is a downloadable copy just as good?

Danke!

Yes, it can be played completely offline.

Others will say differently, but I always buy a disc. A bird in the hand is worth two in the ether.

Ill say Disc, you cant bugpatch the steam version, but if you find a download game with SH5.exe it will work too. But not with steam

Gummi said it best for SH5. Buy the disc version only.

Downloaded games will eventually bite you in the a..! Then you're stuck with a download that doesn't work properly, and you could have one heck of a time getting support or a refund.

I know Steam is becoming all the rage right now by the game manufacturers, but it's kinda like UBI's requirements to be connected on the internet and connected to them to play their games. I don't go for that even tho I do have a couple I like very much that must be played with a Steam connection.

Thanks for the advice. I wasn't looking to download it via Steam (not to mention I have no idea what that is) but more along the line of this: http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/sil...atlantic/77519

Maybe GameStop would be ok, but I don't know as I never buy game downloads. If you can burn the disc as an ISO you might be ok for reinstalls.

It sounds like we're in the same boat.

I refused to so much as look at SH5 until they rescinded the DRM, but now that you can play offline, it's time to get wet!

I'd go with the hard copy as well. So much more patchable than the digital download. Have fun and good hunting!
