First, press the "i" key to be sure you actually have a steam (Type I) torpedo in the tube whose speed you are trying to change. You can't tell that from F6.

Electric (Type II) eels have only one speed and you can't change them.

i have a set layout electric in tubes 1 and 2 and steam in tubes 3 and 4 stern tubes depends on if it is type 7 or 9. i also don't auto load so i always know what i have put in each tube. i am just wondering if it is GWX because it worked on stock when i went through the training

I seriously doubt it has anything to do with GWX.

I'm running GWX and never have problems changing torpedo speeds (unless I forget what's in what tube).

i only use steam for the range the speed is an added bonus when firing at multiple targets at different ranges... i can always edit the file to give the electrics the range...

I have had it happen occasionally but, it has been awhile, so I do not remember exactly what I did when it happened. It seems like I had to click fast speed then back to medium to get it to work, and I had to find just the right spot on the dial for even that to work.
