US removes Iran group MEK from terror list

Quote:
The US has removed the dissident Iranian group Mujahideen-e Khalq (MEK) from its terror blacklist.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton formally removed the group after sending a classified opinion to Congress earlier in September.

The organisation had been designated a terror group by the US since 1997.

The MEK led a guerrilla campaign against the US-backed Shah of Iran in the 1970s and also opposed Iran's clerical leaders who replaced the Shah.

Also known as the People's Mujahideen Organisation of Iran, the group insists it has renounced violence.

The state department said its decision had been taken in view of the MEK's public renunciation of violence, the absence of any confirmed acts of terrorism by the organisation for more than a decade and its co-operation in the closure of their paramilitary base in Iraq.

And because the enemy of your enemy is your friend. I just wish that the state department would just come out and say what it really means to say for once. Clearly the removal of this anti-cleric group from the black list is meant as a middle finger to Tehran, and probably in response to Ahmadinejad's antics at the UN earlier this week. Just say what you mean.

What did Iran do again?

Who the hell is any of us to dictate who should have what?

Who will regulate Americas WMDs?

Hmm?

I seen nothing agressive from them. So I will not buy into the warhawk rhetoric.

Unless the senators and warmongers all send their sons to lead the ground strike, then go screw.

Or bring back the draft!

Then lets see how popular our warmongering really is amongst citizens, so easy when you don't see gravestones with your same last name on it, isn't it?

The draft, will solve all this "ease" that people have with war. No exemptions. Money or age cannot save you, you fight, I will if called, despite my bum leg. I am a crack shot, and will proudly fight!

So sign up list is here. All Vets exempt.

You do know alot of us will die when China and Russia jump in against us, enjoy your Iranian conquest fantasy in the meantime.
