When You start campaign, before starting a mission in Youre office check the drawer, You should find options and then select the level of difficulty or adjust it.

Good Hunting.

I don't understand why people cannot find this. Thanks for making this for the new guys rolling along the sea.

New guys aren't the only ones who miss it! Even those of us who have played the game for years occasionally miss setting the difficulty settings before that first patrol.

So usually go back to the main menu, load the game from the office, click on the radio, set the difficulty and other options, then restart the patrol.

On the other hand this is ultimately useless. I'm not saying it's not helpful or that it shouldn't have been posted, but next week there will be someone who didn't see it or didn't bother to even look, and he will be asking "How do I...?"

Even if it was a sticky and all caps it wouldn't change anything. Sorry to be negative, but long experience says it's true.

BTW, there is a way to change the difficulty setting while you are on patrol.

Quit SH4, go to the SaveGames folder to the specific save-folder you want to change and edit the gameplay.cfg.

This helped me once when I ran out of fuel 50 miles before docking... (Yes, I know, some call that cheating )
