Default yay to selective memory!

OK let me start by saying... Who ever made this game should be taken out to see and shoot through a torpedo tube! Failing that. Incisively rammed in the nuts by a submarine!

Why? you ask.
This game apparently has selective memory syndrome.

I was playing the first campaign with a few small mods. When suddenly I happen on the biggest fing convoy ever! (no escorts!!!)

After cleaning the keyboard from all the droll (I know disgusting..)
I quickly approve submerged making sure I'm waiting for them at a 90 degree angle for easier targeting.

But avast (not sure that is the right word.. Trying for something along the lines of o dear) I need to go!

So I launch the torpedoes and save. Being the junky I am I speed up the game to see if I hit or not. Success 4 of 5 hit.

I turn off and do what ever I needed to do come back load the save and boom all but 1 torpedo is left! the one that didn't hit!!!!!!
WTF? WTF indeed.. Immediately uninstalled done with this POS game going back to SH4 and IL2!

The game does not save Ai units damage - only their deaths

If you mean Ubi - then you should know by a quick look around the forum that Ubi is not here - they are here thinking of more ways to annoy us subsimmers
Ubi gave up on this game on 14th May 2010 - right after patch 1.2

So all we can do is ensure we save the game before we fire our fish or after the ships have sunk.
Perhaps TDW can pull another master stroke and fix this with his patcher

Your loss - this game is not for everyone - it takes a certain type of gammer to like it

I was just about to post exactly the same comment.

The only thing that held me back from doing it, is that no wise and informed comment will end this debate, no matter how good is the game after all the excellent modding that has been done on it lately

I'm not trying to offend anyone. But you guys are investing some much time modding an inferior game..

Tell me true which is better (unmodded) SH4 or SH5?

the type of gamer I'm is exactly the type who likes games like this..

about the save issue I don't remember you could be right.
But I'm pretty sure I'd remember being shafted by that.. Again though you could be right.

I usually am

GoodKnight - this is not a bug free game. the issue you first posted is a real pain and there are many others. Units getting stuck to you and many more all cause us sometimes to take to the drink or bang your head on the desk (im sure others have their own de-stress methods)

Yeah I gave up not solely because of this bug.. This bug was the straw that destroyed the camels back.. Seriously when I noticed... In a better world I'd have the moral reasoning to throw my PC out the window.. But don't need my neighbours knowing I'm that crazy..

But now we know exactly how crazy you are..... and we will tell your neighbors.

Nothing UBI publishes is perfect or not broken in some way right out of the box. You should know that with the IL2 series, but you keep going back to it. But back then UBI fixed things until they needed more money, and you fell into the UBI trap of buying another IL2 and Add-ons and still another IL2 and another..... still with bugs. The same is being done with the Silent Hunter series, but the modders here can do it better. You see, UBI can't afford to put out a game or sim that works as advertised. If they did they'd be broke. They know there's someone out there that will finish doing what they were supposed to do. What they never realised is that those that are fixing SH5 can do it so much better than UBI ever could from scratch.
