Use of Navigation map

I was hoping you guys could help me with a problem I'm having. I'm trying to use the navigation map in the following manner...

I need to draw a really long line... longer than the portion of the map on the screen.

I can't figure out how to scroll the map while in the middle of drawing the line.

Help!!

While drawing line you can use mouse wheel to scroll in and out.

And welcome to SUBSIM.

Or draw a crude line when zoomed all the way out. Then later finetune the start and endpoint of the line when zoomed in.

arrow keys as well should move your screen across at a decent pace

Thank you all for the help.

I sat down to practice hunting with the hydro, and couldn't move the map!

Hopefully the arrow keys will do the trick.
