Default How to find Bismark in Horizon II Campain mode

Hello, guys!!

First, sorry for my poor English. Second, sorry again if this isn't the rigth place to post it.

Te matter is: I'd be grateful if someone could explain about how locating the Bismark in Horizon II, into Campain mode, in order to suport her and avoid her to be sunk (if this goal is possible, isn't it?)... I cannot find the battleship in spite of I place my U-boat in points where the radio reports she is (BE 6150, 6164,6141, 2955, etc.). I traslate this coordenates to normal latitude and long through a web site called "Kriegsmarine Quadrant Conversion" http://ubootwaffe.net/quadrant.cgi, because of the game doesn't use this kind of coordenates-map, as you know. Anyway, I never achieve to find her.... Maybe the radio doesn't work in real game (it's only to make the game fun), maybe the designers make the history be impossible to change? Can somebody help on it? Thanks in advance, Herr Kaloes!

Moin Moin Kaleu,

I´m sorry, but i didn´t find the Bismark yet.

But great thx for the link, I´m search for an "Kriegsmarine Quadratkarte" but can´t find a goog one. Now i can use your link to convert the info in the radio messages.

When i find the ´Bismark´ i report.

See you

I think you know where to look for those messages. Don't you?

Hi Adriano, I think you are confusing the meaning of those reports. They are just static messages, and have nothing to do with what is actually happening in game.

Anyway, questions like these make me wonder if Trevally did ever take account of those reports (especially the ones about convoys) for creating caimpagn shipping.

I know that matching every radio report with appropriate traffic settings/unit spawning would be an hard task, but for sure it would be an useful feature and a nice integration with TDW's radio messages engine.

Trevally, are you there?

There are many historical convoys already in the campaign and a whole lot more added bu OHII

But the new campaign system for SH5 allows it to take random route from a to b.
This way it will change each time you play.

The Bismark route (and a few others) are nod locked and will always go the same route every time

I know it,
I was just asking if you made sure that the particular convoys reported through radio messages system are actually featured in game, since a mismatch would lead players to get confused, as it was the case with the Bismarck reports.

Common convoy reports have this format:

1940.01.05:||Convoy SLF.15 Departed Freetown for Liverpool January 19, 1940.|Estimate 8 Vessels light escort.

As you can see, except for outbound and inbound ports, no mention is made about convoy routes.
The information provided is:

- name of the convoy
- departure time and place
- destination
- expected arrival date*
- number of merchant vessels*
- extent and type of escorts*

* information marked with asterisks is not always provided

I didn't check it personally, but I think that these reports are based on historical convoys.

Yes - this could be done
