Default Can't install SH5 after deleting SH5 v1.2

Hi all, I have a problem, my system crash due to a power outage and since then i can't play SH5, so I tried to uninstall it, i got an error message which basically said no you cannot uninstall the game. I got a little frustrated and decide to delete the folders manually. Well Now as I try to reinstall SH5 it is says I still have version 1.2 on my PC and will not install version 1.0 (from the CD) until I delete the previous version. I think I am missing a file to delete but I am not sure where to look I even tried deleting the game launcher and the SH5 from my registry. I would appreciate any help with this. Thanks.

Deleting the files manually doesn't deal with the registry entries left behind. If the registry entries are still present, the installer will still think the game is installed.

Thanks, I'll hunter the registry waters for all the SH5 files and delete each one until I find the file that is keeping the record.

Try CCleaner (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download) instead of doing it manually. Quicker & safer.

most times its because you still have mods installed is why it wont let you uninstall until you remove them

also there is an uninstall method in the sh4 forum thread to describe where to find all the files you would need to manually remove like the documents saved games to avoid crashing from conflicts

anyway, glad your sorted
