Default sh4 vs sh5

ok guys im new to the series and I hear a lot of complaints about sh5. why is sh4 so much better. Im thinking about buying it. Does it have better gameplay than sh5. from the videos ive seen of it the graphics are obviously older but is the gameplay that much better ?

Also, the duplicate thread really wasn't necessary.

SH4 is a simulator. SH5 is a game, complete with health bars for the targets.

Stock I would agree with you 100% (Though stock Sh4 isn't that impressive either.)

However, you're not doing justice to the amount of improvement the game has received with mods. IMO, after you've given it some mod love, it's even more of a simulator then SH4 is (ex: Real Nav, disabling all UI elements and forcing yourself to look at the gauges inside the sub, etc.)
