Default Iron Front - Liberation 1944

Just played this for the first time. It seems to be a slightly better Ost Front version of the I-44 mod for ARMA2. Based on the Arma2 engine so all the moves etc are much the same. Unfortunately some of the good stuff in ACE is missing meaning it's more like stock ARMA2.

Does it ship with the same editor as ArmA? I might well buy it if that's the case. I spent way more time in the editor of the other game than I did playing it.

Wanted to get started so I could check this sim out, but got to wait on the update first. Oh well, glad to get this update anyway!

Yes, the same mission editor is included.

Quickly tested it just now and must say I'm not overly impressed.

The sounds are weak (driving the StuG is like driving a moped), there isn't much
hardware (3 tanks per side, Tiger II, StuG III & Panther / JS-2, SU-85, T-34),
and there seems to be some issues with automatic weapons... in that they are
horribly inaccurate, I'm talking Red Orchestra 1 inaccurate. Even shooting
single rounds with the STG44 isn't very accurate from short distances.

Also, the files are now .ifa ending, so that might be a problem concerning modding.

So, from the quick fiddling around in the editor, I'd say you get much more if
you grab the I44 mod.

I did like the I44 mod..

Still, I might get this anyway. I Don't have ArmA2 installed just now and can't be bothered going through the dance to get it up and running.
