Torpedo Information Missing

Hay Guys,
I'm running Silent Hunter IV with U boat missions. I'm playing the American side. (Windows XP) I noticed, "While playing the game" that I do not have any torp info, in the information boxes. Could you please tell me what file(s) I need to look at to fill in the missing information in the vanilla game. I understand that other Mods have this information, but I would like to have it in my un-modded version. Thanks Indy

You should have the torp name, speed, range and type of populsion, which is the torp info:
Mk18TorpInfo=Speed: 29 kt|Range: 3,600 m|Propulsion: Electric

If you want to add more info, you can use the torp notes in UPCData/UPCLocalization/Localization.tsr. Open with notepad and scroll down to Mk14TorpNotes=

Hi Guys
Got information on equipment, but still nothing on torps except name of torp can you please help! Used mod and also tried putting info in my self, still the same (Maybe missing a file?) I'm running 1.5 the uboat, but playing American side only. I say this because maybe 1.4 file location is different, but can't see any difference. Indy

If you used my mod it should've fixed the problem. Did you install the mod using JSGME?

If you still want to edit the file yourself, it's this one:

Data\UPCData\UPCLocalization\UPCLocalization.tsr

I also have 1.5, I know the German and American files are in different locations. The American is like I stated:
UPCData/UPCLocalization/Localization.tsr

The German is located in UPCDataGe/UPCLocalization/Localization.tsr

As for 1.4, I don't know, but you are not using it so it shouldn't be a problem.

Are you using other MODs that may change this? TMO already has Notes in it.

You can try checking the Data/UPCData/UPCUnitsData/Ammunition.upc and make sure that file has not been changed. It should be like this:

[Ammunition 9]
ID=Mk14Torpedo
NameDisplayable= Mark 14 Torpedo
Type= AmmoTorpedo
Subtype=Mk14TorpUS
AmmunitionIntervalOptionCurrent= NULL, NULL, 0
AmmunitionIntervalOptions1= 1931-01-01, 1950-12-31, 0
Volume= 1
PackSize=1
Info=Mk14TorpInfo
Notes=Mk14TorpNotes

Make sure the Notes=MK14TorpNotes line is there,That is the link to the Localization.tsr file, then go to the
UPCData/UPCLocalization/Localization.tsr

and find the mk14, find the same line and make sure it matches:

Mark 14 Torpedo=Mark 14 Torpedo
Mk14TorpInfo=Speed: 46/31 kt|Range: 4,100/8,200 m|Propulsion: Steam
Mk14TorpNotes=

Add your notes there. Do the same for the other torpedoes. I added: This is a test for the notes.
Mk14TorpNotes=This is a test for the notes.

Thank you very much Peabody sir, you too Fred! very useful and helpful information. Much appreciated.

I made all the text changes, as they were indeed all missing, and I added my own custom notes too.

Special Note:

If I may add here that I find all of you guys on this forum to be a great help all of the time. You are what keeps this SubSim and indeed the forum alive and great for all to get the best out of it.
