Default Sub to Sub combat: Surface vs underwater limitation

Salute.

I'm guessing that torp launch depth is limited by pressure concerns on the tube(s), don't know, I imagine thats reduced with the newer subs, but I guess my question is, how does one have combat with another sub? Only option is to wait until your above 20m and hope that the target falls within the torp depth seting range? Anyone know?

Ive encountered more than once UK subs which dive to evade, tried ramming him as only appearent option, but Im guessing due to lack of momentum and water effect, he merely, in typical british politeness, merely backs away from me and tries to go away...

Do the later torpedos magnetic sensors / tracking ability play into this at all?

what I've found is you just wait for him to cruise around at periscope depth. by that time you should be able to set your torp depth at 9m and fire a salvo (or a single shot if you feel you are accurate) and hope you hit him. 1 hit is usually enough.

Where are you finding those UK subs if I may inquire?

I've encountered a few in the Med, between Sicily and Malta.

what i dislike the most about this game is the lack of damage of the subs and our own.

You hit an enemy sub with a torpedo all it does is sink. No damage nothing on the outside.

@Trevally

I used to have some little hole in my subs once but thats it.

My hull can be at 20% and have no hole anything anymore

same for the Ai subs
