Default Operation ICEBERG(screenshots)

I added the US Invasion force off Okinawa and waves of Japanese "kamikaze" planes to attack them as well as the fast carrier force.I started a test career put myself nearby on April 6, 1945, the first day the Japanese launched a massive wave of Kamikazes. Now, the game has no kamikaze settings but I saw 3 total crash into ships when burning, reminded me of the footage can see on history or military channel when they talk about Okinawa.I also so saw several more try, some without dropping their ordinance, some with.I managed to catch a few screenshots, a couple show the planes diving after a ship, believe one shows a hit.Not sure if intentional but it sure seems like it, once or twice, but three times plus more attempts, hmmm.Anyway, turned out to be a pretty intense battle. All my AA guns were out of ammo by 1800 and a bomb hit destroyed my engine room bulkhead, leaving a large hole.I have travellers mod, my sub flooded and took a list to starboard and the stern was sinking.I parked in shallow waters and dove on the next raid. Finally after dusk, the last wabve came. All in they all they sunk about 11 ships.....several DE's, one DD , an LST , a T3 tanker, several troopships and liberty ships and damaged my sub, severely.11 ships sunk in one day, out of 80.I have several more large scale kamikaze raids put together throughout April and May and a few in june before Okinawa campaign ends, should be fun when playing in an actual career..They lost well over 200 planes shot down.I lost count at 150 .Next will try to find TF 58 at sea and see if can hang around until their kamikaze raid comes in.Gotta love the ME

nice.I had trouble with the landing craft, getting them to show up properly. How many did you have? what did you di for spacing and column? I have also done Iwo and Peleliu but thinking after I play a patrol and continue tweaking I will try to make some changes, the kamikaze thing was just too "cool" in sense I was shocked they would do it, after a while it just seems intentional, like I said, they accomplished it twice, tried multiple times, a couple of the shots show an attempt, there were closer ones but its best I could do while conning my ship around as my gunners fired away.I had the sound way up during the air attacks, it was pretty awesome I have to admit. I have kamikazes hitting TF 59 and TF 57(the British Pacific Fleet off the Sakashimas and Formosa supporting ICEBERG) , will be interesting to see waves of Kamikazes hit the fleets.

If I recall I just built the groups instead of making a random group as the min spacing they still looked way spread out, maybe I did both, but I don't recall any problems either way. They can look wierd because they contain no men. Lurker has a few groups like this in the Solomons, but his are random built, can't remember the file, but one of those regarding the battle of GC.

Another thing that looks cool is to build big air groups and layer them, just spawn all the groups basically on top of each other, but use different heights so they layer up, looks cool
