Don't know if this is possible . . .

Hello to the forum,
If anybody can help me with this I will be eternally grateful:
I’m not a modder but I’m trying to make myself an external diesel engine mod that changes the pitch of the engines as you gear up and down. I have the sound files for it and I know I need to make a .dsd file for them (don’t know how) but I don’t know if a mod like this is even possible. It would have to disable or mute the stock diesel engine sound file when the mod is enabled. Would it be an automation script or would I have to modify the commands cfg. file? I don’t have a clue as how to proceed. I’m hoping any of you great modders can give me some guidance.
Thanks in advance,
U-Bob

Default Diesel Engine Mod

Thanks for your reply Sober. I made a copy of the stock SDL and registered the sound files in it. I think I did it right. Now I understand I need to make a .dsd file. If there is something about that on TDW’s SDL editor, I missed it. I opened one of TDW's .dsd files with Notepad ++ and couldn't make heads or tails of it. Is there an app that creates those files? Sorry for all the noob questions. I appreciate your time.
BTW, I like your work

Ok, I installed S3D and took a look at some .dsd files. It's easier to see what they're all about now. I'm using TDW's Sub Flags .dsd file to see how it is setup and because it's closest to what I want to do. My question is why are there 88 entries for 2 sound files? Please forgive me but this is all brand new to me.

Thanks
