Hello,
I have TMO 2.5, RSRD and OTC mods installed. Great Mods, but how do I get the default music back without losing the mods. Thank you. |

uninstall the mod
open the mod folder and look in data/ sounds and inside the sounds folder there is a folder named "music" just delete that folder and reinstall the mod and the stock music is back. |

Thank you, Webster.
I understand that the following might be OT, but maybe you or other people can help me. I have taken some time away from sh4 and have recently began again after downloading TMO 2.5. I still lack consistantcy in manual targeting and have viewed the tutorial videos multiple times. Seems easy on YouTube, but when I try, the merchants never stay on course! Then the inevitable happens....I get pinged by the escort and chased away. I never really get a good opportunity to plot an attack-like in RockinRobins videos. Is there a training scenario with one or two lonely merchants w/o escorts that I can practice on? I am a little tired of sinking the Japanese cruiser (course 100, speed 12 kts) in sub school #3 and #4 does not help either. Anyways, thanks again for your help with the music and any suggestions with the above would be appreciated. |

You might want to try this "AoB Test Mission" I have on the Optical Targeting Correction mod thread. You'll have four different merchants approaching from different angles, and separated by a small amount of time. The Porpoise sub is stationary, and at periscope depth. The mission was designed to help with learning manual targeting, specifically counting the periscope Telemeter divisions to determine range and AoB with the aid of the range Omnimeter. Since you're using OTC, the training mission may be of use.
If they scatter as you plunk the first one, you'll have to get on your horse and go after them. Their mission routes aren't very long, so don't be surprised if they disappear on you after a short chase. The mission is JSGME compatible, so you just need to add the mission to the "MODS" folder and activate it like any other mod.

Great idea, Capt!
I will look for that mission. It should be included with OTC, right? |

No, the "AoB Test Mission" is not included with the OTC mod (I've got the download size too big as it is!). Use the link in my last post to go to the SubSim "Downloads" page for the test mission. Or, use the link I put to the OTC thread to find the same link. Mouse-over the "orange" title in the reply.
As I state in the README, you could use the test mission with the auto targeting option turned "on" while checking your actual range or AoB estimate from the telemeter/omnimeter calculation. In this way you can check your accuracy against the games computer readings, which are accurate when using "auto targeting". When your calculations match (within reason) what the auto targeting readings for range and AoB are, you're ready to use manual targeting. As you learn what to do, don't forget to use the "pause" feature while taking the telemeter readings, and using the Omnimeter. Take your time while learning, after all the real life sub had 12 to 15 men in the "Fire Control" party to do the job the games manual targeting feature expects 1 gamer to do. You can use the test mission as-above to check your Telemeter/Omnimeter skills, or just blaze away when the first target comes within range.
