One of the greats of car design has died at 89

Sad news indeed. This man was a legend in the automotive world and its a shame to see him go. Never got to try his chilli.

Carrol Shelby was a great legend, a Texan, a race car driver and owner and builder and a promoter and even a good cook.

What a lot of people don't know is that he had a transplanted heart from a las Vegas gambler donated to him back in 1990 which gave him another 22 years of life.

All proceeds from Ford's new GT 500 Shelby Cobra will go to a hospital in LA that specializes in heart problems for children.

Plus he had over 100 orphans most from Mexico

I was fortunate enough to have owned a 1965 Shelby GT 350 she was one fine automoblile given me many memories.
