3D TDC and Radar Range Unit

Hi there,
JUst come back to this brilliant mod by Nisgeis. Can someone confirm that that the numbers showing the ranges on the ppi scope below the trace in the 3000, 20000 and 40000 ranges are supposed to have gone. If they have how are you supposed to get an estimate off the range. THe only screen shots I see are of the prec range where there are no numbers below the trace. Many thanks, Bruce

You use A-Scope for the radar range.... If you are running TMO 2.2 or 2.5 the 3D TDC is already in the mega-mod.

Here is a link to the tutorial.

Hi Donna,
I understand that, but there used to be a range of numbers underneath the trace in the 3 range modes so that you could look just below the the blip and read the range. My A scope doesn't have these now, is that correct, Thanks, Bruce

Not quite sure I understand, I have never seen a range readout on the scope itself unless there is a mod for it. You can set the radar to four separate range modes with the 3D TDC mod and the range readout is on the left.

The ranges underneath the range mode selector switch on mine reads (Prec...3,000...20,000...40,000yds.)

Hi again Donna,
I think I have sorted it. Before the 3D mod there were scales underneath the green traces on the ppi radar. I now realise that these have been replaced by the numerical dials to the left. Incase you haven't seen it here is a link to a training page by John Channing about using 3d radar.
Thanks for all your help,Bruce

Also Richard, those range scales on the A-Scope, were in metric, so if you played using Imperial Measurements, the A_scope would be off unless you compensate for it yourself.
