I know there is a Tanksim website, but......
I'm interested in a tanksim. I want a modern tanksim for a good price. If possible, is there one with a 3D interior view of the tank? I couldn't seem to find this info on the Tanksim website.

Because GT is a cesspit and one would assume anything below it would be more of a cesspit. Plus the only other thing down there is the foreign forums.

The tank level in Battlefield 3 is just amazing and it's got me interested. I usually avoid the General Topics section. I'm downloading the T72 Balkans on Fire demo, but if my question could be answered, I would appreciate it.

Well, like I said, we have a dedicated tanksim forum section. You really should ask there.
But, I can give you some pointers: Steel Beasts Pro Personal Edition - Modern tanksim, generally considered the best of the best there is. Costs quite a bit compared to it's competition. Don't have personal experience of it, but Skybird over at the tanksim section seems to know quite a bit about it. T34 vs. Tiger - Discontinued AFAIK (the devs shut down). Compared to most tank games, it's ok. WWII setting. I keep going back to it every once in a while just to drive the Tiger around (love that tank!!). WWIIOL (aka Battlegrounds: Europe) - MMO, so mothly subscription is needed. But the tank aspect is something I like very much in it. There's no limits where you can go on the downscaled map of west Europe. Of course, the fighting will only happen at the fronts, but nothing stops you from taking a tank and ambushing possible reinforcements from other towns (as I've done number of times). Downside, apart from the subscription fee is that it does take some time to learn the game. The free trial (14 days the last time I checked) is not nearly enough for that. All in all, it's very nice. The penetrations can be a bit twitchy at times, but most of the times it works, i.e. Tiger has not troubles knocking out an Sherman from 1,8 kilometers and so on. |

That sounds good. I looked at the steel beasts game on the tanksim main site. I think I will try out T72 and see how I like tanksims before I sink money into them.

Red October,
please check the stickied resource threads at top of the thread lists, there is one for Steel Beasts that gives you plenty of links, also one for TvT, which officially is discontinued, biut there is a - costly - mod abo available. The SBP thread also contains the link to the video thread that may give you examples on what to expect. Note that the videos are from the past 6 years or so, representing very different developement stages and versions. Start with the newer videos first. Can't help you on TvT, but if you have questions on SBP, ask. Lieste btw is closer to the title and knows more about it's background data and internal developement, if I interpret his occasional postings correctly.
