Default Annoying "RING RING" Bell in GWX

GWX 3.0 is GREAT but it is annoying to hear (when changing speed) the "ring-ring" bell. In WWII the U-Boats did not have a "ring-ring" bell!

Is there a correct way to replace in specific maps the ring-ring sound/bell into something 'normal'? And/or is there a mod that is great and can replace this annoying bell sound?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

Note: I am playing SH3 in German.

Check subsim downloads. I seem to recall a mod called no ring ring.

There is a mod that lowers the volume of the ring.

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...highlight=ring

Hope this helps.

EDIT:
And here's the one that completely removes it:

Use the Das Boot Sound Mod. All engine orders (and a lot of others) are from the movie.

DBSM eliminates the ring entirely, so they're two different mods altogether.

Thanks all!

Don't you agree with me? In my opinion it is quite annoying to hear the bell "RING-RING" during gameplay. GWX should change this ... it's not authentic too.

I downloaded the DBSM (Das Boot Sound Mod) however, now my saved game doesn't start up anymore?
I then disabled (via JSGME) the above mod, but still problems.

Anyway, thanks for the help. I will figure out what the problem is.

In fact three mods.

1. DBSM. (Das Boot Sound Mod) No ring-ring bell! And much more.
2. Alternate Depth Charge.
3. Alternate Torpedo Hit.

Sailor Steve:

"This time around I changed the name of the 'DC2' folder to read 'Alternate Depth charge'. Hopefully that will make it a little easier to understand. This one contains the depth charge splashes without the soundman yelling "WASSERBOMB". It was nice, but it gets a little old after a while."

"I also did an 'Alternate Torpedo Hit' folder. It contains a blank file, because I got tired of hearing the cheering every time I scored a hit."

I have GWX 3.0 installed and use the default German voices, however, the ring ring still persists with the Das Boot Sound Mod

I don't have an answer right now, I have to install SH3 + GWX 3.0 + SH3 Commander again ... everything on my computer is F**k*d up

Note: I think you need DBSM_SH4.7z (I can remember that this one worked correctly).

Of course it's the famous 'No RING-RING mode by Melendir'
I'm using it and works like a charm.
Here you go:

It seems both mods didnt work for me.I have internal uboot sound mod (or something similar ) but the jsgme didnt show any conflict. It would have helped if my game total load time wasnt something like 15minutes

Learn something new every day - I thought all engine 'telegraphs' had the 'ring' to the engine room (noisy) so they could confirm an order and it rang back to the control room too. Hmmm. Thanks for the correction! (Such noise is undesirable during conflicts because it can give away a vessel's position.)

Most likely the folder structure of the mod in JSGME differs from that of the actual game files. It should be something like
NO RING RING > DATA > SOUND > SPEECH > 1,2,3 etc
Check it once again and compare it to that of game folders.

I used JSGME and DBSM_SH4 (look at 4), it also from Sailor Steve.

Sailor Steve:

"There is one thing I wish was better: there was a wonderful 'Surface' routine in the original that played when the boat broke the surface, ending with the reporter asking "Mann auf Brucke?" I couldn't use it in SH3, because they didn't have a surface routine sound file. SH4 does, but it's tied in with the surface order, so it's perfect if you order "Surface" from periscope depth, but a little silly if you do it at 100 meters. Too bad; I like it."

"I included Ktl_Kurtz's wonderful Torpedo RepeatOrders Mod v1.02, just because it adds so much to the original."

"Also, this thing is big, so it will take quite a few minutes to load into JSGME. But it's worth it."

Very good mod, 123 MB sounds from Das Boot and no ring-ring, thus more authentic.
