Default Is it me, or is this hello superfluous

Well apparently old "joiners" need to make a post or they can't download anything.. So I guess hi there, and stuff. This is a Post, its existence is superfluous. I promise I go back to (eternal) lurking afterwards ;p

And stuff....

I would be of little worth to this Forum, I am just testing out whether SH5 got to a decent modding level nowadays and am naturally missing the last mod (Open Horizons 2 1.8 Full) for my little "let's see how bad or good this game is nowadays" project.

And while I always read here (but forget to log-in, heh) there would be little I could comment on

Besides, with my erratic game taste SH5 is not gonna captivate me for long ^^

Ps.: Also terribly sorry for not seeing the new member topic.. I must have been distracted or something ;p

It's amazing how much people who don't contribute actually contribute. Just by asking one question hundreds, if not tens, of people can go "oh, yeah! I want to know the answer to that".

I hope ;p

Just got done installing Magnum Opus and Open Horizon 2 , let's see how this goes ;p

If nothing else, I might just go with Horizon and get the smaller mods separately ...

Now if anyone has any recommendations..... as to which mods I really should have..... ;P

Well your sig jimbuna made me remember I still have Silent Hunter 3 sitting around and never got around to playing with GWX3 so that's up for today ;p

For some reason, i do not really like Sh5 , it feels as if the escorts have the ability to find you in absurd situations (and with finding I mean they steer directly at you way outside of their hearing/ping/radar/visual range abilities when you are the cause of any event around them) and when playing with Magnum Opus i got several CTD's when running out of Kiel and way too bright underwater views.

To explain what I mean, for giggles i fired while sitting around a habor a torpedo at 6km distance and hit a freighter there, it was a GIII electric torpedo so no wake and silent (dunno which mod implemented that, equipment fixes? And the 2 patrol destroyers outside the habor (and more than 10km altogether away from the explosion) turned around and bee-lined at me. Makes you wonder whether they have x-ray vision. Never happened to me in SH3.

And in other times the escorts seem downright brain-dead, for giggles i poked at scapa flow by skimming via the back-door route in 1939 and shot torpedos at random, all 9 or so destroyers came at me in full speed, but about 100m from me they all stopped dead in the water. And i actually ESCAPED from scapa flow after sinking 2 royal battleships ;p While fun, that was highly unrealistic... meh

I guess nothing really replaces a mega mod like GWX

hehe I guess that is a bit OT altogether. Just wanted to write it down.

Part of the reason is spam control, that's all I can say.
