I wouldn't give much credence to anything Sarkozy says until after the end of the elections (or never, depending on your point of view). Right now he just wants to get as many votes as possible and even threatened to exit the Schengen zone (common external borders, no internal borders), like that would change the number or nature of migrants (legal or otherwise).

Plus, the French have a wonderful Constitutional Council, which has been known to shoot down any far-fetched ideas on limiting human rights (like the recent law on punishing genocide denial, which was deemed unconstitutional).

Only logical, censoring the internet does prevent what governments are afraid of most.

If you think the "patriot act" was not rough enough, if i see this i do not want to live in the USA, especially since Mr. Cheney was in charge.

"Interrogation techniques are not aggressive enough", this was directed from high level, and is not an isolated case.

Why, then pack all the government in a sack and beat it and club it, you will always hit the right person.
I do not think Cheney or any other high-rank criminal will ever be sued, this is no constitutional state.
