Default White House dinner

Wondering what was on the menu yesterday, who was invited, who the entertainers were, what the toasts were about and what gifts were exchanged?

Here be the answers:

What's so funny about that? It sounds delicious. Beef Wellington is fantastic, and Bison is a healthier, leaner meat than beef with good flavor. Ever had a bison burger? It's very good.

I have and you're right. It's a lot less greasy than a beef burger. Bison's good eatin'.

Every chance I get. Burger, steaks or roast. Not the hot dogs though. They are mixed with beef and that's not good for a guy with a heart condition. Great Range brand is usually what we can get at the supermarkets around here. Mostly burger but Hannafords will often have all three. The only downside is that it's quite pricy compared to beef. I blame the cow syndicate.

I was just goofing on the name. Bison Wellington is like saying Eggo's Susette. Bound to cause someone to faint at the sheer impertinence!

GIFTS EXCHANGED

Before the dinner, the Camerons presented the Obamas with a Dunlop table tennis table, complete with UK and US flag bats.
They received a Braten 1000 Series Grill hand made by Engelbrecht Grills and Cookers of Paxton, Illinois, in return. This came with two White House chef jackets, each featuring American and British flags, and the Great Seal, as well as Mr and Mrs Cameron's names.
The Obamas' daughters, Malia and Sasha, received a set of classic British books by Penguin and Puffin with customised covers.
The Cameron children, Arthur, Nancy and Florence, were given personalised bean bag chairs, featuring their names and the presidential seal.
Mrs Obama also gave Mrs Cameron a jar of honey collected from the South Lawn of the White House and chamomile seeds grown in the kitchen garden.

They were fed a load of crap and asked for a donation upon leaving the dwelling on Pennsylvania Ave.
