Coming back to SH4 a few ??? please
Coming back and want to play a harder version than the "gold"1.5 .
I down loaded the TMO 2.5 ( it took about an hour). But I can not get it to "go into SH4". I have 7-Zip and downloaded a few other things for other games and had no trouble at all getting them to open into the game and initiliase so I could play them right away. Is there some magic knowledge that is needed. I am not in any way at all a GURU so keep it very simple and clear. Thank you in advance. ![]() |

I just downloaded WinRAR 64bit and it will not "open" or install TMO in to SH4.
I have win 7 and a very upscale gaming computer but not much in the way of computer knowledge. But Like I said I did loat some games yesterday and installed several downloads into them. When I go to "my downloads" and select "open with" I am given a window that list 7-Zip and WinRAR. I select WinRAR and it switchas to another screen where no mater how long I wait or what I do nothing happens. This can not that tough, or is it. Lots of clear instructions please. ![]() |

Find a girl friend with a fast internet connection and re-download it. Your download file is corrupt.

Are you using JSGME to install mods? If not you will want to install it and use it. It is easier to install mods in this way. |

Every time I go to the JSEME web site listed within SH4 forums I end up shopping for gifts and get a site not working pop up.
All I could see in the info. for downloading the TMO 2.5 was to get 7 zip or winRAR, which is just what I did. As for the "less than helpfull" guy who suggested that I get a girlfrend to help me download I say %&*$#@(*&^} to you. I have had a super "girlfriend", my wife, for 50 years as of last August. Why the moderator did not catch that one is a wonder. That would not be tollerated at other forums. TO THE POINT. Just what do I need to do to get TMO installed into SH4 gold ed. ?? ![]() |

http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/sof...cts-jsgme.html Having just returned to playing the game again after a long absence, I know it can be a pain to find our favorite tools/mods/utilities. That link works (I used it just a few days ago) and will install the latest version of JSGME. Follow the instructions to install it, then check the TMO documentation to install that mod. As for irish's comment, I don't think it was meant in a malicious way. True, he could've said "friend" instead of girlfriend, but I think he meant well - your download file might have been corrupted, try downloading it again from another PC. That's who I read it, at least ![]() Welcome back ![]()

Another vote for 7zip. It absolutely takes Winrar out back of the barn and beats it with a bamboo cane! It will read everything Winrar does and then adds in all the other conceivable compression schemes too. And it's not shareware that you have to be an outlaw to use for free, it's absolutely free and leaves you an honest individual. That's worth a lot in my estimation.

OK, I started over and erased the old corrupt TMO. Then I downloaded the GME from the link you provided and then TMO2-5.
So far I placed the TMO 2-5 in the activated Mods side ( right side). Right about my poor old brain is on overload-- SO what do I do now to turn SH4 gold into SH4 with TMO2-5 mod with in it. I think I just saw a very large rabbit saying he was late! Thanks again for your help ![]() |

I don't understand about placing the mod in the active side....Did you copy and paste JSGME in your SH4 game files and run, and then generate a snap shot of the game files, creating a MODS file folder in the game files? The MODS file folder is where you will place the mod after you 7zip it.
It may be easier if you follow the link below.....Step by step mod installation (Including JSGME setup). http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/t...5/m/5181035206 ![]()

First, install JSGME into you SH4 root folder. During the installation process, JSGME should create a file named "Mods" in the same root folder. If it does not, just create your own empty file named "Mods". Allow JSGME to place a shortcut on your desktop, and again, if it does not, create a shortcut there yourself.
Now, all mods, assuming you've unzipped them, should be placed in that new "Mods" folder. When you open up JSGME (by clicking the shortcut on your desktop) you'll see all those new mods in the left pane. Click on the mod in the left pane that you wish to add (this will highlight it), then click on the appropriate arrow (located between the panes) in order to add it to the right window pane. Once it is loaded, it will appear in the right pane. Just reverse the process when you wish to remove a mod in JSGME.

Dona 52522 thanks for the link. I looked it over and I will try to work through it today. Some of the terms talked about in this endever are Greek to me such as "root folder".
The link has clear instructions and pictures so this may work. Some how I remember it being easer to install GWX it to SH3 into my last computer. I have yet to try that yet into my new computer ( OS is Win 7 ) and I need to buy the non=starforce SH2&3 game first. So much to do and so little time. Thanks again for your cotinued cheerfull assistence. |

![]() What it essentially means is not to install the game in any of the Program Files folders but on its own (i.e. not in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 but C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4).

Wow, this valuable thread came two days too late for me! Like so many others, I found the JGSME and WinRAR instructions as clear as mud. I installed JSGME in a seperate "desktop-games" folder far from the Program files/Ubisoft/SH4 folder and migrated the unzipped files from my download folder to the MODS subfolder in Ubisoft/SH4. It was quite a dance, but it worked.
I was given the impression that this way JSGME could be used for other games as well. The downloads site has a Radio Station mod that uses JSGME but I've had luck just installing Radio stations in the Radio folder where they belong...It ain't broke. I won't fix it. Is there a good reason to use JSGME for radio stations that I'm missing?
