Locating Convoy Frustration Frm a Newbie

I am a new comer to SH5 and despretly need some help and advice from a experienced player if they are kind enough to spare the time please.

Can some one please help me in locating convoys , I see them on my map plotter and try to get to them but to NO AVAIL in doing so you get a slight outline of were the convoy will be as you move and plot the changed convoy but for me this is not happening, I am haveing to have to run bang into the convoy on my course what am I doing wrong plz.

The othere little matter is I have seen vidio on Utube about Torp attacks but they are following the torp to the Ship and seeing the damage how is this done is it a Mod or already in the game.

Also, Hector, here's a different one that is a bit more basic on how to plot an intercept course for a convoy in a few easy steps (it's from SH3, but it works just as well in SH5).

Another note: The "shadowy outline" of the convoys predicted position that appears when you plot a course is based on the convoy still being where it was initially spotted, so be sure to check it first to see when it was actually spotted (click on the convoy marker on the map). If it was spotted an hour ago, it will actually be an hour further along on the map than the "shadow" indicates.

Welcome aboard!

Hector, Welcome aboard.
If it makes you feel any better, we all find convoys to be elusive from time to time. Couple of hints here. Convoys along with all ships in this game change course regularly, so follow that with what Misha says below.
Next, you have an additional map that shows Convoy/Merchant routes for various stages of the war, this can help sometimes. Depending on the date, if your in 1939 to early 40, try that North coast of England. I was running into a lot of small merchant convoys with one to zero escorts all along that coast from Scapa Flow down to the Dover Strait (don't go into the strait). All of this is also dependent on which mods or campaigns your using too. Stock campaign, Open Horizons ect.
So don't be frustrated if they don't pop up all the time. For me, they always show up when I've got no fish left.
Good Hunting Herr Kaleun

whether you are in easy mode or the more difficult settings the two post above are the best and only effective way too intercept a convoy . You will have the same results everytime you try to do this method that you are currently doing ..
