Default Question for someone from the UK

Several weeks ago, I was watching BBC-America. They had a drama on that was about the police chasing after a modern day version of Jack the Ripper. I can't remember the name of the show, would love to see the whole thing if I knew what the series name is.

Any help would be appreciated!

On a side note, saw my first episode of "The Shadow Line" last night, what a bunch of fun people are starring in that series. Anybody ever smile on that show?

Would that be Whitechapel?

I wish I still had BBC-America. I have to hobble on with PBS and never ending beg-a-thons sandwiched between 40 year old episodes of Fawlty Towers and Dr. Who.

Maybe if I actually gave 'em money they'd get the newer stuff? Or is there another useless PBS tote bag in my future?

I fail to see the problem here.

Fawlty Towers I could watch over and over, Dr. Who I'm not so sure - we all have our favourite, possibly associated with when you first started watching it so it'd be Tom Baker and Peter Davidson for me, and William Hartnell for Steve?

Jon Pertwee I don't recall watching as the Dr., but I loved Worzel Gummidge TV series ('79-'81)

My only criticism of Fawlty Towers is that there are only twelve episodes.

Still, I would like to see newer series like Red Dwarf or Absolutely Fabulous once in a while. (even those are getting old) Going by one of my local PBS affiliates you would think it was still 1975 in Britain.
