How do I know what Sub model\make I'm commanding?
The first Sub you could see the rear torp was that a type II? I've been offered a new Sub this one doesn't have the torp showing and can carry more torps is that a IV model? How many models of Sub are there when using OHII? Also (Not OHII related, though mayby TDW UI related) is there a leaderboard in SH5 showing what aces where around on that date and their current score? |

Heheh, annoying isn't it? There's no easy way to tell while you're at sea. You can check in bunker by seeing what conning towers are available to you - it will normally say 'Type 7C Extended Wintergarden' or words to that effect, and the selection will change depending on what sub you're driving at the time.
The first sub you'll be given is 7a, single rear torpedo tube/no external torps. The second is the 7b, single rear tube with internal rear reloads and two external torps. You'll also note a much higher 'Standard' speed on the 7b (not sure how realistic this is tbh). The third and final sub is, unsurprisingly, the 7c, which has the same torpedo loadout as the 7b, and the same speeds as the 7a. I believe it has a deeper crush depth (it certainly should have), but can't be certain off the top of my head. ![]() |

While you are at sea: open the navigation map. Point your mouse cursor over your sub icon on the map. the text will apperar with your sub type.

I just wish there was an easier version of finding your hull number (U-xxx) than sending a status report and looking at what BdU calls you in their return message.
(BE MORE AGGRESSIVE! ![]()

I chnaged my hull number so both radio reports match...didn't like one saying U 21 and the other U 27..now I'm just U 27 and no longer schizo.
Though I keep telling BDU I'm not a number... I sank 50,000 tonnes and was told to be more aggressive. |

![]() ![]() It's how you spot a fellow Silent Hunter fan in the real world. If somebody ever uses the phrase "be more aggressive", no matter what the situation or context, you know he's one of ours!
