Default Editing weapons data

I want to edit the weapons in SH3, specifically the sub torps and deck and AA guns. Also I want to know if I can edit the way depth charges behave and the number of depth chanrges carried by each class.

What files do I need to edit and what tools do I need to download and from where?

Default Weapons

It all depends upon what you would like to do. There are mods out there right now such as:

GWX3 Additional Ammo by Jimbuna

GWX3 All Weather Guns by Jimbuna lets you use the guns in heavy seas
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...?do=file&id=32

Real DC-1 by Jungman reduces the damage distance for depth charges, so you can be DCed for hours and still escape
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=3173

These may fit your bill. The additional ammo and all weather guns change cfg files in the Submarine and Basic folders under the Data folder. You can edit these using notepad. What did you want to with the torpedo's?

I'd like the torps to be more reliable and more powerful. Basically I would like a single torp to sink the largest available ship in the game (probably the HMS Hood) or any larger ship.

One more thing, has anyone ever tried in SH3 (with success) to destroy a submerged enemy sub especially the british ones?

As far as the torpedoes being more reliable you can turn off dud torpedoes in the change realism menu prior to starting a mission. Increasing the strength of the torpedo is beyond my expertise at this time. I have had more luck sinking torpedoes with one shot using manual targeting. There is a ship recognition chart that shows vulnerable area of ships to target. When I find it I will post the link for you.

I have shot at S boats on the surface but not submerged. Missed both times.
