Default Great Lakes ship sinks in East China Sea (from 2009)

I never knew this occurred. Back in 2009 the Algoma Central ship, Algoport, was being towed to China for conversion. During heavy seas she broke in two and sank in over 16,404' of water in the East China Sea. They were only a week out. That's deeper than Titanic and Bismarck. No one was injured or lost. Pictures and even video was taken. The seas do indeed look rough. It's sad to see a Laker go down. The video is shocking to watch. The Algoport is one of only a very few Lake ships to go down outside of the Great Lakes.

Here's some more info on the ship for anyone interested.
