Default This is driving me insane...

Hey guys. I never had this problem on grey wolves 2.0 but now Ive upgraded to GWX gold.

My issues are really annoying.
You know how the game is supposed to save for you "in port before mission"? Well, I dont get that. Instead on that save file, It says "The war has ended" IN 1940! So I cant start a new patrol.

Also not only am I getting the same grid for EVERY patrol, the petty officers dont move around like they should. Ive got 2 in the diesel engines. When we dive and everyone moves to the electrics, they sit there on their lazy butts in the diesel room....

I know I can change the grid myself, but I want it to be random...like it should.

I know about the corrupting saves and whatnot and only save really far out in the middle of no where. Also de-selected read only for the folder properties.

Any other tricks to get it all to work or anything? GWX is the only mod Im running...

In the event of a corrupted file save or not knowin' at all ...

I would think that a clean re-install would be in order ... make sure the game is patched to the current version and then re-install GWX 3.0

Also check that the bin files of the GWX 3.0 files you D/L'd aren't corrupt as well

Yes, it sounds like you have a corrupt install. Reinstall and be sure to delete the SH3 folder in your my documents folder too.

I think the 2 pety officers not moving between electric and diesel engines is 'normal'. Not related to savegame issues or whatever. This happened to me in many different installs of the game. Seems the game just forgets them.

It's a case of lazy petty officers (it used to be the case with the WO that did not want to move to the bridge before h.sie patch)

Without speciality po's don't move from diesel room to electric room.
Engine room speciality takes care of laziness.

Unspecialized po's do move to bridge though

Ok, that would explain it, since it wasn't consistent in all patrols

The petty officer "laziness" is an old stock bug that was never corrected. It is similar to the "lazy" 2WO who never gets out of his bunk after surfacing and the watch crew returns to the bridge. Best solution is to move the POs to the bunks and replace them with Swabbies, who do move between compartments with no problems. Unless the POs are specialized, there is almost no difference between them, except for stamina, assuming you are using any fatigue model other than "none".
